Lehde is a listed part of Lübbenau and in a distance of about 2 km off the town. It is a well-known and a very typical Spreewald village with buildings in the traditional wood block construction. These houses and stables were mostly built in the 19th century. The punt was, and still is the most important mean of transport there.

In Lehde there is an open-air museum with three Wend’s peasant farms. Directly in front of the museum, there is the traditional restaurant “The Happy Pike” with the Spreewald Aquarium, where you can watch the kinds of fish living in the Spree river and its rivulets in different basins. They contain more than 30.000 l of water.
